Up for auction is my first year 1956 Desoto Adventurer 2 door HT. It is one of 996 Adventurers built in 56, they were available in the Hardtop body style only, no convertible Adventurers were available until 1957. I have the IBM build card documentation from Chrysler Historical proving the original color combo of black/white. According to the National Desoto Club this car is the ONLY documented black/white color combo left! This rust free example was frame off restored in 1995 and still looks excellent today. It has traveled only 800 miles since the restoration was completed.
It recently was awarded 1st place at the Walter P Chrysler museum "Classic Cruiser" Cruise Night, and a first place trophy at the WPC Club Great Lakes Region annual show. It was also featured in the October 1996 edition of "Collectible Automobile" magazine.

The body is very straight, the paint and chrome still looks excellent.
The engine and transmission are original to the car, both were rebuilt to factory specs at the time of restoration. I recently installed two correct NORS mufflers and exhaust pipes. The driveshaft was recently rebuilt with an NOS front "ball and trunnion" U joint kit installed.The interior has been restored to original using NOS brown tweed inserts, the remaining correct gold vinyl is from SMS. The carpeting is the correct "gold flecking" over black. I have driven this car over 300 miles this summer with no issues, it drives very well at highway speeds.
