Here isA 1970 Mercury Cougar XR7 Convertible. Came from the Factory 351 Windsor, 3-Spd Manual Top Loader Trans, but has been upgraded to a much more desirable 4-speed Top Loader which shifts great. THIS IS A VERY RARE XR-7 CONVERTIBLE only making a handful, Only 1 of 47 3-speeds sold in 1970 According to Marti-Report.... This Cougar also has Power Brakes, Power steering, and also has a Very Rare Tilt steering wheel in which does not stay in the upward position, may need some work. The Engine is a 351W in which the Marti- Report verifies, the 351C must of came shortly after this production, they now have the one piece floor pans for the cougars for less than $500 if you wanted perfection. The frame rails look real nice as do the shock towers and trunk pans are perfect with only minor rust around the drain plugs and should clean up realnice, Also you can see the Original color of Dark Green on the trunk pans still. The passengers Rear quarter seems to be Original with No patches, the drivers Rear Quarter is original also buthas a few repairable dents and a spot underside and will need a small patch (see picture). The Front bumper on the passenger side is a bit twisted downward but should be repairable. also this car does have the Bolt-in-glass which is a plus compared to the glue-in-windows, under battery tray looks good with only surface rust, Any other questions just ask and I will get back as soon as possible, A $500 Non-Refundable Deposit is due through Paypal following auctions end.
