Unlike many muscle cars from the 1960's, this car is a bit of a survivor. During the rotisserie restoration of the vehicle, the metal was in such good shape that only one trunk panel was replaced! Just check the fit and finish of those door panels, the hood and the trunk. This car has stellar lines and it's due the great metal and not hours of steel rod gapping after the fact. The restoration was an extensive one, starting with a body that was stripped down to a bare shell and media blasted. Every screw, nut and bolt on this beauty has been handled with care as the car was reassembled from the ground up. These cars have some very long panels and this beauty is straight as an arrow. The GTX was painted in its original color, Sunfire Yellow, which extends into all areas of the body including the trunk, engine compartment, unseen interior areas and the highly detailed undercarriage. The undercarriage is quite the site to see and the floor pans are gorgeous. All of the glass, trim, seals, rubber, felts etc...are brand new, as are all of the interior panels, seat covers, headliner and carpeting. The car interior features bucket seats, console and the lighting package to boot. The motor in the GTX is the numbers matching 440 that originally came with the car, with the VIN correctly stamped at the back of the block where the transmission bolts up. The transmission is correct for the year however, we are unable to verify its originality to this GTX car at this time. The rear end is the 8 3/4 housing with 3.23 posi gears. All drive train components were rebuilt during the restoration and the car runs phenomenally. During the restoration, a 3rd core was added to the radiator to soup up the cooling capacity a bit and the car cools very efficiently. All brake and suspension components were restored at well and the car really drives out well. The brakes are excellent and she is as at home on the highway and she is on the streets. The motor has great pep and this GTX behaves like the muscle car it is.
